Third NIH Conference on Holoprosencephaly (HPE):
Midline and Laterality Development
This conference is supported by the NIH Office of Rare Diseases and the Carter Centers for Brain Research in Holoprosencephaly and Related Malformations
Conference Program for Parents
For a limited number of families, we have the opportunity to examine selected cases by members of the NIH and clinicians. This will take place at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) on April 21, 2004. We invite all interested families to apply for this evaluation with the understanding that not all families can be seen at this conference.
Families that are interested in seeking additional information about evaluations and long term care are encouraged to contact any of the three Carter Centers for Brain Research in Holoprosencehaly and Related Malformations at the Web site below.

Unless you are selected for an NIH evaluation, the family conference will be only on April 20, 2004. However, families are encouraged to schedule their own activities, visit any of the Smithsonian Museums, the cherry blossoms or any of the other activities of the Washington D.C. metropolitan area. Local transportation for tourists is excellent through an excellent and handicap accessible subway system. We will be happy to assist you in providing maps and further details of the Washington D.C. and suburban Maryland areas. The Internet is also an excellent source for this information.
