On August 4-5, 2016, the National Human Genome Research Institute (NHGRI) sponsored the NHGRI International Genomics Education Meeting at the Lawton Chiles International House in Bethesda, Md.
The objectives for this meeting were to:
- Provide an overview of primary care oriented education programs
- Review lessons learned for meeting the changing educational needs of healthcare providers
- Share best practices for genomics education implementation
- Identify synergies, challenges, and opportunities to share and collaborate
- Focus on physicians and healthcare practitioners (clinicians, nurses, pharmacists, genetic counselors, and physician assistants)
